​Fishery/area - In and around Boston, this historic area is home to some of the best striper fishing in the world.  Mild water temperatures and a mix of sandy and rocky bottom make an ideal habitat for many different fish species.  We fish the Ipswich Bay from the estuaries of the Plum Island Sound all the way up to the Merrimack River in Newburyport.  Heading south out of the Ipswich River, we run all along Crane Beach to Essex Bay and around to Cape Ann, fishing off Halibut Point and Rockport all the way down to Nahant and Boston Harbor.

Season - The season for stripers kicks off in the middle of May and runs through September.  Bluefish occasionally enter the mix                     and they are a blast to target on the fly rod!

What you need/trip expectations - I use 6-12wt fly rods and an assortment of spinning

Fishery/area -  Cape Cod, Buzzards Bay, and Marthas Vineyard

Season - August, September, October

What you need / trip expectations - 9-10 wt fly rods with intermediate fly line and bay                                                       anchovy and peanut bunker fly patterns


UPSTATE NY
Pulaski, NY and the Salmon River

Fishery/area - Chinook & Coho salmon fishing in the fall months, followed by some of the best runs of steelhead and brown trout in the lower 48!  The fly fishing here is top notch from October - May.  Anglers can expect to encounter a variety of lake run species.  All within a 6 hour drive from Boston!

What you need / trip expectations - 
The place is a short drive from numerous hotels in the area, and there are ample breakfast places on the commute. Warm clothes and a rain jacket are necessities at this time of year (long underwear, warm socks, and layers as the water is still in the 30's), waders and boots that fit you. Also having a good pair of polarized glasses is something I always recommend. I will provide all the fly rods, lines and flies that we will need.
