Cambridge shares the Charles River with Somerville and Brookline, but the fishing dynamics are similar - tidal estuary that draws Striped Bass during their seasonal migrations. The Striped Bass show up in spring as the water warms, typically starting in late April or early May, with the best action through June. The fall run from September through mid-October can be even better, with larger fish moving through. Bluefish arrive in summer and add another dimension to the fishing, often crashing bait right at the river mouth.
